Why the Perforations?

Why the Perforations?

Have you looked at a  SOVA Night guard and wondered, "what's up with these little holes?" No other nighttime  mouthguard has holes in it. So, why the perforations?

The little holes in SOVA Guards serve three important functions:

  1. They make the material stronger, similar to how support systems function for a bridge. When you intensely grind your teeth, the perforations oscillate, setting off the the first step in the chain reaction of Diffusix™ technology. The grinding forces are diffused through the surface of the guard, away from the teeth and into scientifically designed crumple zones, where it is absorbed into the material.

  2. The other advantage of perforations is to help you create that custom fit. During the last steps of fitting the guard, you are going to close your mouth and suck out all of the air between your teeth and the SOVA. As you suck the air out through the holes, the guard custom seals around your teeth, creating a perfect fit. In fact, you shouldn't be able to take the guard out without using your fingers to physically snap it off your teeth. That's why SOVA is comfortable throughout the entire night.

  3. The holes allow for the natural flow of air and saliva. Combined with the snug fit, perforations ensure that you can clearly communicate with your teammates on the field, breathe naturally for best performance and stay hydrated without ever taking your guard out of your mouth.

Using revolutionary Diffusix™ technology, completed with unique perforations, SOVA night guards are 8 times tougher and 30% more protective than conventional nightguards. You’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep, knowing your SOVA is there to protect you.
