SOVA FAQ

Please call us at 1-800-444-0570 or e-mail us at customerservice@sovanightguard.com with any unanswered or additional questions about your SOVA Night Guard!

How Long Will My SOVA Last?

It all depends on how well you take care of it. Cleaning it after each use with your toothbrush and regular toothpaste or rinsing it with mouthwash you will extend the life of your mouth guard considerably. Keeping it clean and letting it dry before storing will keep the germs at bay. The material itself will withstand harsh biting and chewing, but we still recommend you replace your SOVA Night Guard after 6-9 months to make sure that you have a perfect mouth guard every time you use it.

Can I Wear SOVA With Braces?

Yes, absolutely! Always take your SOVA Night Guard to have it professionally fitted by your orthodontist or dentist. This is important because when the material is soft during fitting it may bond with other materials. Your orthodontist will use a string of wax or some other type of barrier as a shield between the brackets and SOVA Night Guard. Please don't try this on your own. For more information on how to fit with braces, please refer to our SISU athletic guard video demonstrating how to fit a SISU guard with braces, click here

Can I Wear SOVA With Crowns And Bridges?

Yes, SOVA can safely be used with crowns and bridges as long as the dental work is in good repair.

One Size Fits All?

SOVA is custom fitted exactly to your teeth so there is no need for different sizes. It is made for ages 11 and up.  If under 11 years old, consult your dental provider.

What If I Want To Remold My SOVA Night Guard?

Not a problem. One of the many unique features of SOVA Night Guard is that it has a built in memory. When you want to remold, simply put it back into hot water. Then watch it straighten out and return to its original shape regardless of how long it has been since you last molded it. For instructions, click here.

Do I Need One Top And One Bottom Or Is Just One SOVA Night Guard Enough To Protect My Teeth?

You can certainly wear a SOVA Night Guard on your both top and bottom teeth. It's a matter of preference. Wearing two will give you even better protection.

Does my SOVA Contain Any Harsh Chemicals?

There are absolutely no dangerous chemicals like BPA (Bisphenol A), Phthalates or PVC in our products. In fact it's even bio compostable, so if you drop in on the ground and forget it there, eventually it will break down and turn into soil. Pretty cool, right? We use recyclable material in our packaging too. We are mindful about both our customers and our world.

Can I Wear SOVA During The Day?

Yes! SOVA Night Guard can protect you teeth from the harmful effects of both daytime and nighttime grinding and clenching.

Can I Wear A SISU Guard As A night guard?

The makers of SISU mouthguards are excited to offer SOVA Night Guards, using the same state-of-the-art Diffusix™ technology to protect your teeth from night grinding.  You can use a SISU guard for night grinding, but NOT a SOVA Night Guard for athletics.

How Do I Clean my SOVA Night Gaurd?

Rinse your SOVA thoroughly in lukewarm tap water and soap after each use. Alternatively, the mouthguard can be brushed with a regular toothbrush or non-abrasive, non-whitening toothpaste. Carefully rinse and dry before storing your SOVA at room temperature, and use a case to keep it safe and clean!

Are SOVA Nightguards gluten-free and free of plasticized methacrylate polymers?

Yes, SOVA is proud to offer nightguards that are both gluten-free and free of plasticized methacrylate polymers. We understand the importance of addressing both dietary concerns and potential allergens, and our commitment to user safety ensures a worry-free experience for individuals with gluten allergies or sensitivities to certain polymers.

Can I Chew Through The SOVA Night Guard?

You will not experience the same problem with this night guard as with many others because no matter how much you gnaw, you will not be able to chew through the SOVA Night Guard. Its non-compressible material won't allow your teeth through which is why it protects your teeth so well. When you are fitting the night guard, the material becomes soft, make sure that you don't bite through or overstretch it while fitting the night guard. If the material is thinned out, it will not protect you as well.

What Does the Warranty Cover?

Akervall Technologies Inc. (“ATI”) warrants that there are no defects in the materials or workmanship of the SOVA Night Guard that cause damage or injury to the sound, natural teeth of the user when properly used. ATI has a 120 days durability warranty. If you manage to chew through or in any other way by wear or tear destroy your SOVA Night Guard, please send it back to us with the original receipt and an explanation and we will replace it for a new one.
